Today I bid goodbye to my normal weekdays..
So I decided to record a day in a wk for me BEFORE i started work today. =)

So with me starting work, elvin gave me two very useful things!

Ok, it's 10:30pm and i need to sleep now.

Have to reach work at 6:50am EVERYDAY. ha. =)

Valentines day 2009

Valentine's Day...

was also the 8th month anniversary for elvin and I since we got married.

There were ups and downs, tears and laughter.

Looking back to when we first knew each other 10 yrs ago, started dating 5 years ago and now married for 8 months, it was an amazing walk together.

I cannot thank God enough for being in this walk togther with us..

Elvin and I are very different.

There can be a lot of frictions that can have many very severe effects and results.

However, somehow the rubbing, painful it may be initially, always end with a happy ending..

We are learning how to be as one and how to live as one.

Many many anniversaries I know we will have,

as long as we both keep holding onto each other's hand and walk..

miss being my parents' little daughter.

Today I spent sometime really linking around reading the youths' blogs.

I got really depressed at the end of the whole process.

They are not the same passionate young people who told me they are gonna be a great testimony for God, shining for Him with their life testimony. Although I know, I should be expecting some difference, I wasn't that prepared I guess.

Being in the youth ministry for so long, looking at the youths grow from when we first took them in after CW, Elvin and I always feel like parents to every single one of them. When they overcome, we rejoice madly! When they fall, we hope we can always cushion every single one of them. In the process of them growing and finding directions, we hope we could guide them or give some advice. When they need a listening ear or a shoulder, our phones are never switched off.

Some told me, things are different now. The young people nowadays don't think like in my era. But I really think nothing should have changed in terms of thinking and mindset as our thinking and mindset is not determined or affected by how the world thinks. Everything is clear, no grey area.

I remembered when I did something wrong that's not abiding in the Word of God, I would fear and my heart would be so convicted and I'd worry so much that if I don't get on track fast, I would be drifting further and further.. Of course, there were times I was stuck with the same problem and temptations for months and years but I was clear it was a wrong thing and God wasn't please and hence, I continue to make the effort to change and ask God to help..

Recently, I realised that some young people didn't feel some things were not right and reason was everyone does that in sch. That was a shock to me. Satan was good at confusing the minds of our young people and messing with their hearts. Satan is stepping up to make sure he gets more people down to join him and I started evaluating myself and my minstry, am I stepping up to fight it out? Am I doing more to counter him?

With all these happening, I really wondered..
Am I not firm enough?
Am I not emphasizing the importance of God's Word and Christlike-ness enough?
Am I not letting God prune me enough to display and be a life testimony for God?

I really hope everyone can work hard together to really be on guard...

I seriously dislike what the devil is doing with my young people.

RAHH.

Because of Picasa 3, I started playing around with my photos.

And because I play around with the photos, I have to display it somewhere.

Because I want to display it somewhere, I blog.

So all thanks to Picasa 3, my blog is coming alive! =) haha..

Last weekend was funfilled! =)

Started my Saturday with my swimming kakis-Jidi, jiejie and elvin! Actually we swim just so we can eat breakfast after that. haha.. the Porridge near Jidi's house's market is SUPERB! =) It's our routine to eat there after swimming. =)


Went home to do some work after that and off we went for the Singapore Hit Awards!


It was rather disappointing as many artists were unable to come last minute BUT Fish Leong, Eason Tan and Mayday saved the day! =) There is a reason why they won so many awards over the years and can still be in the market for so many years!

The ceremony lasted for 3+hours and there were no train service anymore when it ended! Thank God for recent craze of Cantonese Drama! Haha.. Uncle Allan was still watching DVD when Fabian called him at 12:30am and he came to pick us up at City Hall! Happy! =)

On Sunday, esther, elvin, jidi and i went in to Msia to help out for the Final registration day for the BIGGEST spelling competition in Johor! Our family is the main organisor! When we closed, we had near 1000 sign ups!

One of the newspaper organised a "Spell it right" competition last yr and they only had 100+ sign ups! haha.. Really thank God for FAVOUR. Not just with the high number of registration but all the supportive sponsors, friends and relatives!

I'm really happy for my sister.. She has been back from Timor for 6+mths and God's hands have been really over her life and everything she does. Our God is really good eh? hee.. Her learning Hub is going to be ready by end of November and The Seed Holdings is really expanding! haha.. First was The Seed Childcare Centre and now The Seed Learning Hub. =) Elvin wants to open cafe so sis say we shall call it The coffee Seed. haha.. Maybe if esther open a boutique, we'll call it Fashion Seed. haha.. ok. not funny.

Monday was public holiday and we were at Nancy's Hair Salon's opening. We were invited to perform the opening song. Jidi led, elvin played guitar, esther me von and dory sang. =)

Ever since Nancy and I became friends about 1yr ago, my hair have been taken care by her. Just as I am typing this, esther chong just called to ask for nancy's number cos she's going to cut her hair! haha.. =) I have an appointment at Gracious Image tmr to colour my hair too! haha.. =)

Everyone who have been to Gracious Image will definitely agree with me that it's the most comfortable place to relax and have your hair done. They serve the NICEST red date tea! haha.. =)

I remembered when I needed to colour my hair for my wedding photoshoot, I had TWO stylists doing my hair. They sat down to discuss which colour to go with my skin tone. Shone light on my hair to see if the colours were even just so my hair colour will be consistent in every photographs. I'm serious. This is how serious they are about their work. =)

Serious they are but they are still the most friendly and fun pple EVER. haha.. Nancy and her staff are always very sincere and they actually make effort to remember what you share from previous visits. =)

This is a video Jin Quan and I did during IT class today. Learnt about movie maker and we totally finished the task teacher asked us to in 5min! haha.. =) But it's totally nonsensical. Just gotta hope that teacher won't flip. haha.. =)

Just some updates la.. have been very busy and exhausted from sch, house, etc..

I'm glad semester is coming to an end. Exams are coming but by God's grace, so far, i'm still quite on track. one more report, two more papers, i'm done with my supposedly last semester in my Uni life. Can't wait to start work cos I will be paid! Poor elvin have to pay all our household expenses and loans himself... DEARIE! I promise i will not skip another coaching session again! haha.. =) that's my only income now..

Anyway, elvin and i celebrated our 4th mth anniversary! haha.. have been so busy that we keep forgetting about special dates... alright! we went to Awon! recommended by Esther. Cheap and NICE! the marinated meat is really superb! not forgetting the soup that was literally sweet from the meat juices and the best part is it's only $19 per person! Korean BBQ and steamboat buffet. quite a steal i feel. (rhymes!)

Went to walk walk a bit after the very filling dinner. =)

His baby is so cute! always blurblur one. hee.. neighbour Nash has a jamming room with two drum sets, many different type of guitars and MANY MANY EG distortion paddles! (are they call paddles? whatever.) There were another young couple who came for the dinner. Christians too! so after playing some secular songs, elvin and young neighbour started playing "What the world will never take"! haha.. =) Frankly, this is my first time visiting neighbours. Always have weird and creepy neighbours who like to peep and watch. Ask my sis and you will understand. =)

Alright, i need to type out my presentation script to send to my class for revision purposes.
